Folks, correct me if I’m wrong here but didn’t Virginia GOP Chairman Jeff Frederick PROMISE to step down from his office in the General Assembly if he were elected GOP Chairman? (Jeff Frederick personally made that PROMISE to me.) That was important to me not because of perhaps, undue influence from Republican leaders in the House, but rather that he could not do two jobs at once—three if you include his own company. Not having stepped down seems to have impaired his forward progress.
Have you noticed that the RPV website is in a continual flux of “NEW WEBSITE COMING SOON”? The RPV website has turned into a **GULP**, poorman’s blog!!! This is troubling given the fact that Jeff Frederick’s business is technology. Websites do not take very long at all. So where is the tech integration? And what of the 100 day plan and fundraising? How is the party any different? Where are we on all of this?
I voted for Jeff and lined up at least 20 supporters for him but I am a wee bit disturbed now. Jeff, fix the website, report to us on fundraising, and tell us what you’ve done so far. But most importantly, Jeff, resign your chairman or delegate seat immediately. YOU MUST CHOOSE. We value integrity over maintaining power but we value a job getting done, too. I’m sure Hager would be willing to step in again.

He said he would not seek re-election. Never said he would resign.
Jeff promised to not run for re-election, not resign, there is a difference. Anyone in the web business knows that it takes time to build a website. I called RPV and they told me that it was going live in the next few weeks. According to the WaPost, he got the largest single donation to RPV since 2000 from one of his personal donors. This is also public record, as are other contributions to RPV this past month. RPV, when I call and ask things, actually gives me an answer. Too busy to do your homework?

Ya’ll don’t get me wrong. Let me state this clearly: I am STILL a Frederick supporter. BUT Jeff promised me personally that he would “step down” and wouldn’t do both. I don’t believe that meant waiting until his seat came up for re-election otherwise he is doing both jobs. Plus, there appears to be too much confusion that he was going to resign. Should I post the numerous places it appears? Where does that confusion come from? It shouldn’t be there at all. This isn’t a high bar. But I can pass on that issue if that’s what Jeff actually intended. I do intend to call him personally on this after I’ve paid my empoyer portion of employee salaries. I can accept mistakes and lack of knowledge on my part but I can’t make excuses to other Republicans who are asking why things aren’t getting done now. To boot, it’s better that these criticisms are addressed NOW rather than later.
To wit, as far as the web page, that is the same excuse I received a month ago. (Yes I did some “homework” JM.) A webpage doesn’t take time unless it’s a super duper fully dynamic page that will blow us out of the water. If that’s true, then why not pump us up for that? I suspect it’s not. I’ve done several web pages. It’s not that hard now. After all, I’m a consumer in the web industry and my demands are met easily within a month.
Also, if we didn’t make the 100 day plan, then say so and update us. Hence the reason for my query “Where are we on all of this?” We’re forgiving but want progress. Why should I have to do “homework” to find this out?
And, as far as contributions, sans this one personal contributor, my review is that the other regular donors have dropped off. Is this incorrect? I note the state of affairs published by WaPo: http://blog.washingtonpost.com/virginiapolitics/2008/06/virginia_republican_party_need.html#more. If true, there might be sour grapes from the Hager folks. That can be dealt with by excitement and progress. As I said, I can admit mistakes and lack of knowledge where appropriate. I’ll even post it! I want to post it.
The point of my post is that we seemingly have no progress after several months. Why is that we have to call in to do our “homework”? I expect our party to run like a business not a government. Produce marketing materials. We got more email from the campaign. It’s what I expect. So far, I’m not seeing that in work product. You’re telling me it’s there and I have to do my “homework”?
